From little STEMists to STEM-Stars

As part of the EU Code Week initiative, in cooperation with IT companies in Lviv, Lviv Polytechnic National University, the Internet of Things Department and "Teachers' Guild", we plan to organize an event "From small STEMists to STEM-Stars".
This event will help bring all schoolchildren, especially girls, to digital technology, programming, STEM education, 3D-printing, and Internet, and will encourage them to develop towards the IT industry. We plan to invite IT specialists to share their experience in the field of information technology, and also plan to visit IT companies.
We will learn how to program with the use of Scratch, code.org and  Python .
Students will listen to motivational presentations and lectures  "Professions of the Future".
On Monday 08.10 - we will learn how to program with the use of Scratch, Python code.org. Students will create programs .
On Tuesday 09.10 and Wednesday 10.10, we will hold a Skype meeting with the students of the Zalishchyky State Gimnasia. The students of our school will tell about their Stem-Project "Living Picture", and the teacher will tell about his experience of introducing Stem at school and about the First Stem Festival, which was held with the support of the deputy mayor of the city. In the school office of computer science, the teacher has already opened the center of Stem. The main goal is to bring students to Steams projects, innovations and development of Soft Skills.
On Thursday, 11.10, we will conduct a lesson on "Internet of Things", introduce students to this concept and get acquainted with the programming language of Arduino.
On Friday, 12.10 - at the Stem center  we will meet students with representatives of IT companies in Lviv, who will conduct a motivational presentation about their education in  IT .
This meet aims to show how technology affects life, how accessible and realistic it is to implement and inspire to create and implement its own projects.
We plan to model and get acquainted with 3rd print on Monday, 15.10. During this event, we will hold a Skype meeting with school students who are already working with the 3rd D printer and they will tell us about their experience. After the lessons we plan to visit the IT company of our city.

On Tuesday 16.10 - summarizing, issuing certificates, presentation of student projects and programs that were created during the week.
